" Kannada Kalarava" FIS Kannada Habba 2023
The 68th Kannada Rajyotsava was gloriously held at Freedom International School.
The programme began with an impressive parade in front of the school entrance.
This grandiose celebration drew a big crowd of parents and the general public. The parade celebrated Karnataka's rich cultural history. The students captivated the audience with their ardent display of various folk forms such as Yakshagana, Veeragase, Gaarudi gombe, Huli Vesha, Karadi Kunitha, Karaga Kunitha, Patta Kunitha, Nandi Kolu, Kolaata, and others.
The students' unique costumes brought to life the state's iconic people, with Lord Bhuvaneshwari and the chariot ride being the primary focus.
The Nada Dhwaja was unfurled in the school premises. The lighting of the lamp marked the start of the cultural programme by Smt. Sushma Rao, Managing Director, Smt. Sneha Rai, Principal, Smt. Jayanti Prabhakar, Founder Principal, and Smt. Clara David, Vice Principal.
The display of actual antique objects used in Karnataka in the past provided students with an insight into the state's true rural folk culture.
The school also held competitions like fancy dress, storytelling, folk music singing, role play, and creative commenting to help students improve their language abilities.
